Why is Hedera up today?

$0.0946+2.1% 24h+19.2% 7d

Hedera's 1.1% daily gain is a broader-market move rather than a Hedera-specific one, but it is outpacing Bitcoin, which slipped 0.8% to $84,095 over the same window. The main tailwind is regulatory: the SEC's clarification of digital asset rules, which eases how tokens and staking arrangements are classified, lands directly on networks like Hedera that run proof-of-stake and court enterprise issuers. That backdrop is complicated by the resignation of SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce, the agency's most prominent crypto advocate.

The institutional tokenization story is also in focus after IBM's Digital Asset Haven began a beta integration connecting banks to Swift's blockchain-based shared ledger, allowing tokenized-deposit instructions over existing ISO 20022 messages — a theme that supports enterprise-focused ledgers generally.

Against that, macro and risk headlines are capping gains. The 10-year Treasury yield hit 5.22%, a decades high, and traders cut $1.7 billion in leverage, while Bitget saw roughly $350 million drained from hot and cold wallets. HBAR's 19.9% weekly gain came into today already stretched.
