Why is Shiba Inu up today?

$0.000006+3.3% 24h+9.3% 7d

Shiba Inu is outperforming a flat-to-lower Bitcoin, up 1.5% in 24 hours and 6.2% over the week while BTC slips 0.3% to $83,931. The move is mostly coin-specific positioning: on-chain data showed roughly 74 billion SHIB in exchange netflow, read as accumulation after last week's 10% flash crash that pushed the 200-day moving average back into play. Traders are also leaning on seasonality, with SHIB entering October off an anomalous +39.3% third quarter and a technical breakout from a two-year downtrend.

The backdrop is steadier than it looks. Bitcoin held near $84,000 through a historic Treasury selloff that lifted the 10-year yield to 5.22%, while about $1.7 billion of leverage was flushed out — a reset that has let smaller-cap tokens grind higher.

Regulatory headlines cut both ways: the SEC clarified token and staking classification, easing a long-standing overhang, but "Crypto Mom" Hester Peirce resigned as commissioner. The $350 million Bitget exchange hack remains a counterweight to sentiment. SHIB's $102.5 million daily volume against a $3.45 billion cap keeps moves thin.
